Little Otavalo is owned and operated by Maria and Tyler, a couple living and working in Toronto, Canada. Maria, born in Quito, Ecuador, recently became a Canadian citizen. Tyler, on the other hand, was born and raised in Toronto, and has since rediscovered his Ecuadorian heritage in the past decade, travelling to and from his soul city of Quito with Maria as his guide

When they first travelled to Ecuador, the Otavalo City textile marketplace was one of Maria’s must-sees for Tyler. They walked from stall to stall, hearing the stories of the indigenous craftsmen and women who work there — and, of course, touch and feel their incredible garments on display.

Today, after numerous trips back and forth to Ecuador, Tyler and Maria’s passion for their country’s rich heritage has been permanently reignited. With Little Otavalo, they are able to bring the highest quality products from Ecuador’s legendary marketplace and deliver them to anyone in need of warm, comfortable, stunningly stylish garments — all while supporting the local economy of the Andean people back home.
